Ultimate Frisbee training

Hello everyone, today I'm going to show you a training session that I prepared for some of my classmates in high school. As you can see in the title, it is about Ultimate Frisbee, so, here we go.

WARMING UP
  • Run two laps around the pitch.
  • Rotate your ankles, knees, hips, arms, wrists and head.
  • Stretch your legs, arms and shoulders.

FITNESS TASK

The two most used throws in Ultimate are the backhand and forehand, so we did an exercise to practise them. This consists in changing our positions so that we are able to practise every type of throw. The black point has to throw the disc using backhand to the blue point, this one has to throw it using forehand to the purple point and the purple point has to throw it with a long pass to the black point. Afterwards, they have to change their positions as it is shown in the picture. They have to run while doing this

.

TECHNICAL TASK

In groups of four, a person will start running slowly and he will pass the disc to the first person using backhand, to the second one using forehand and to the third one with a long pass, subsequently they will change their positions.

INDIVIDUAL TACTIC TASK

In groups of three, one person will be the defender, another one the thrower and another person has to be the one that receives the disc. The thrower has to throw it and the task of the defense is to force a bad pass, to get a block so the disc is not caught; or to get an interception outright.

COLLECTIVE TASK

Personally speaking, this is my favourite part of the training. You have to divide into two groups and play a match.

COOLING DOWN

Static stretches are appropriate to cool down as they help muscles to relax, realign muscle fibres and re-establish their normal range of movement. These stretches should be held for approximately 10 seconds.

Hope you liked it. See you soon!
